Ideal College Library has adopted Koha, a world-class open-source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), to partially automate its operations. Koha, recognized as the leading library automation software globally, is utilized extensively by academic, public, and special libraries, owing to its robust features and community support. Developed by Katipo Communications for the Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand, Koha facilitates efficient library management through functionalities such as barcoding all books and issuing barcoded student identity cards. This integration enhances the circulation process, allowing for seamless book issue and return management at the circulation counter. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) feature of Koha further simplifies access to the library’s collection, enabling users to locate books effortlessly.
