The postgraduate department of commerce and management studies is the largest department in the college. Through persistent effort and enhancement, the department spurt its niche in the academic horizon. Streams of workshops organized by the department ensure ample opportunities for students and faculty members. Around 200 students are studying in different courses like BBA, B.Com Co-operation, B.Com Computer application and M.Com (Finance). The department is headed by Prof. Moideenkutty (former Professor at MES College,Ponnani). The department annually conducts a management meet ‘ASTRA’ to explore the managerial skills in the dynamic environment of business. Bunch of workshops, discussions, seminars and exhibitions are organized by the department to initiate students to expand beyond their academic limitations. Moreover the department offers a certificate course in Tally in association with Competency Acceleration Programme of Centre for Continuing Education Kerala. As part of manoeuvring the outgoing students’ ability, the department offers Finishing School Programme for Additional Skill Hunt (FLASH) with 30 hours duration along with NTA UGC NET Coaching for Master Degree Students. More than thirty programmes were stewarded by the department in the previous academic year.
