Anti-Child Labour Awareness Program Report

On 11th June 2024, the Department of Social Work, in collaboration with the NSS Unit and the Labour Department of the Government of Kerala, organized an Anti-Child Labour Awareness Program at Ideal College of Advanced Studies, Kadakassery. The event, aimed at raising awareness about the pressing issue of child labor, was well-attended by students, faculty, and representatives from various governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The program commenced at 2:00 PM in the Seminar Hall of Ideal College.The inauguration of the program was done by Prof. Koyakutty T, Principal of Ideal College, Kadakassery. In his inaugural speech, he discussed the various initiatives undertaken by the college to combat child labor and encouraged students to actively participate in such programs.The felicitation was delivered by Nithin MS, Assistant Labour Officer, Ponnani. He appreciated the efforts of the college and the organizing departments for taking a proactive stance against child labor. He also spoke about the legal framework and government policies in place to protect children from exploitation.

One Day Inter-Collegiate Workshop on Counselling Skills

Postgraduate department of social work, Ideal College for Advanced Studies, Kadakassery organised one day inter-collegiate workshop on counselling skills on 26 June 2024 at seminar hall. The program was stated with the welcome address by Mr. Jaseel PJ, Faculty, Social Work. Inaugural speech was delivered by Prof. Moideenkutty, College Vice principal. He highlighted the need and scope of counselling services with professionalism and expertise. A message was delivered by Mr. Abhilash Sankar, College Administrative Office.  In his message, he underlined the importance of quality of counsellors. One day practice based workshop on counselling skills was led by Mr. Abdul Fathah N, Head, Department of Social Work. The formal session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Sneha, Faculty Social Work. MSW students from St.Marys College Puthannagadi were participated in the workshop.  The program was concluded with distribution of participation certificate by Mr. Abhilash Sankar, College Administrative Officer
